Ice Cat
The Andaman Cabriolet is based on the hull design of Robin Chamberlain’s 38 ft XS Ice Cat. Chamberlain sailed Ice Cat to Antartica in 1999, the first catamaran in history to sail so far south.
Since then, Chamberlain has gone on to record a host of racing wins, notably in the Tasmanian ‘Three Peaks Race’, in this fast and seaworthy ocean racing yacht.
Composite Catamarans has bought a set of moulds for the same hull design − together with one set of hulls.

Cut Snake
All Yacht Spars’ Alan Carwadine had a dream. He had spent most of his life building, designing and sailing NS14s and MG4s as well as the increasingly popular range of ‘Stealth’ sports boats.
The dream was for an open, comfortable 12 metre catamaran that would scream around Moreton Bay and charge the tropical Queensland coast for the occasional Brisbane to Gladstone race.
Teaming up with veteran multihull racer Shaun Jackson, and wisely consulting the ladies on some of the finer design points, Alan had things more or less sorted before enlisting the guidance of designers Jon Sayer and Brendan Egan. The result was the ‘Stealth 12m’, Cut Snake.
Apart from cruising with family and friends, Alan has taken Cut Snake to victory or close in a number of races, including: Surf to City 2008 1st line honours, 2nd performance, 3rd OMR. Brisbane to Gladstone 2008 4th line honors, 2nd performance hcp, 5th OMR. St Helena Cup 2008 4th Line honors, 2nd performance, 2nd OMR.
Composite Catamarans has based the Andaman Cabriolet on Alan’s designs for Cut Snake, with modifications to suit a different world.
