A REAL WINNER!
Due to the spectacular performance of the prototype Andaman Cabriolet, Niña, at Six Senses Phuket Raceweek just 3 days after launch in July 2009, the first order for an Andaman Cabriolet was placed immediately on the last day of the regatta. Since then, Niña won first place in Langkawi Regatta, three third places in Phang Nga Bay Regatta and a sixth overall in Phuket King's Cup Regatta, the latter three all with scratch crew.

The Andaman Cabriolet - new build in just 6-7 months

The Andaman Cabriolet 39 ft catamaran has been researched and designed to suit the coastal waters of the Southeast Asia. A medium-sized catamaran, the Andaman Cabriolet is perfect for both charter clients and private owners looking for a combination of economy with a high standard of accommodation, ease of sailing and adaptablity.

Regatta winner
Notwithstanding these features, the Andaman Cabriolet catamaran is a winner when it comes to regional regattas and will appeal to both regatta charterers and competitive owners who aspire to achieve a podium position. On her first outing, just 5 days after launch, Niña, the first Cabriolet, scored two firsts in a fleet of 7 very competitive racing multihulls - and went on to win first place overall.

The design
The design is based on hulls designed for an expedition to Antarctica, as well as serious racing.

Local input in Thailand polished what was already a first-class cruising/racing catamaran into the perfect fast cruising yacht for waters such as those around Thailand, whether for private ownership, resort ownership or for charter.

Local input includes innovation in engine handling, accommodation, integrated saloon/cockpit, deck and coach roof design, refrigeration, sewage treatment, furnishings, fittings and finish — as well as the unique 'cabriolet' retractable saloon roof.

Professionally surveyed
The Andaman Cabriolet build process is being surveyed at all critical stages by marine surveyor Jeroen Deknatel (DipMarSur), Lloyd's Maritime Academy Reg. No. 0807-004. Jereon has over 25 years in Thailand's marine industry, including building Phuket's first purpose-built steel liveaboard dive boat, Ocean Rover, constructed to the most stringent international standards. www.waterline-marine.com

Materials
Unlike many builders of similar-sized catamarans, Composite Catamarans uses only epoxy resins (not polyester or vinyl ester) in the Andaman Cabriolet build. Although epoxy resins are approximately double the price of the alternatives, they offer a number of advantages that a serious boat buyer should value:

Better adhesive properties (the ability to bond to the reinforcement or core)
Superior mechanical properties (particularly strength and stiffness)
Improved resistance to fatigue and micro cracking
Reduced degradation from water ingress (diminution of properties due to water penetration)
Increased resistance to osmosis (surface degradation due to water permeability)
